Source Text: History repeats itself, and Isaac may not know enough in the passage below to know that he is following in his father’s footsteps, but we know that he is making the same choices his father, Abraham, did. What of our ancestors can we see in ourselves?
Genesis Chapter 26, Verse 6-8: Isaac lived in Gerar. And the men of [Gerar] asked Isaac about his wife; and he said: 'She is my sister'; for he feared to say: 'My wife'; 'in case the men of the place kill me for Rebekah, because she is beautiful to look at.' And when he had been there a long time, Avimelech, king of the Philistines, looked out a window, and saw Isaac was kissing Rebekah.
